The 2008 Annual Dinner and Election will be held on Saturday November 15th at The Inn at Towamencin (Best Western Hotel), just off the Northeast Extension in Kulpsville, PA (exit 31, Lansdale).

Our featured speaker this year will be chapter member Phill Hunsberger, who will give a slide show and talk about his fascinating travels in the Himalayas!

The presentation will depict a 14 day trek to and climb of the 21,000 ft. snow-capped Mera Peak, a mountain in the Everest Region of Nepal. It will include some maps showing the route, photos of approach to the climb, then of the ascent capturing the enormous size of these mountains and shots from the summit on a beautiful, sunny morning with Everest in the background. Details on how you can do this trek will also be shared. Various materials from the peoples of the area will be available.

Election

The annual election of officers to the chapter Executive Committee will be held during the Annual Dinner, in accordance with the chapter by-laws. The slate of nominees for the 2009 Executive Committee has been finalized. The organization of operating committees has been somewhat re-structured from previous years. Please read about the details here. A vote on approval of the officers will be held during dinner.

Program

The schedule for the evening is as follows:

5:00 – 6:00 PM Happy Hour (Cash Bar)
6:00 – 7:00 PM Dinner (Buffet Style)
Choose from three entrées, salad, side dishes, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage
7:00 - 7:30 PM Election of Officers and Chapter Award Presentations
7:30 PM Featured Speaker, Phill Hunsberger
