About Becoming a Member of the AMC

 

When you become an AMC member, there are lots of ways for you to get involved in the outdoors. Here are some exciting opportunities, handy information, and insider tips to help you make the most of your AMC membership. 

Year-round outdoor adventure!

From tots to teens, individuals to families, AMC has activities for you. AMC Workshops are offered in the White Mountains, Berkshires, Catskills and Delaware Water Gap. Whether you're going solo or with your family, it's a great entree into the backcountry. Choose from day trips or overnights. Levels range from beginner to advanced. 

AMC Lodging offers you lots of options!

AMC operates overnight facilities throughout the Northeast. Accommodations range from full- to self-service and are accessible by car or foot. Pinkham Notch Lodge, the AMC Huts, and Crawford Hostel are located in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Bascom Lodge is situated on Mt. Greylock in the Massachusetts' Berkshires. AMC camps are located in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. For lodging descriptions call (617) 523-0636 for information on AMC facilities. 

You're never at a loss with AMC books and maps!

From Maine to North Carolina, AMC books can lead you on hikes, bikes, skis, and in canoes to wonderful outdoor places. With over 45 books published, there's no reason to go where everyone else does. 

Get into the Action!

There are lots of opportunities with the AMC to give back to the outdoors. Your help is always needed and the rewards are great. Volunteer for a chapter trail project or with the White Mountain Trails Program. Chapter trail projects are listed in the back of AMC Outdoors. For information on trail programs in the White Mountains, Berkshires, Catskills, and Acadia National Park call 603-466-2721. Do you have a special place that you like to hike, camp, or paddle? Help the AMC make sure it's there for you and future generations to enjoy.
